AMS Camp 09′

AMS Camp Rocks! Had so much fun I must say.Even though I went later for the camp because of Speech Day at Dunman, there was no lack of fun.Every activity had so much fun to experience.Be it the ice-breaking games or the water games, laughters and signs of enjoyment were seen everywhere.Everyone was smiling and all were having much fun.

During Day 1,we played some ice-breaking games such as ‘Gotcha’ and ‘Chucky’ at empire level. After that, our mentors told as ‘ghost stories’ which made as laugh rather than being scared. After the stories,we went for our nightwalk.my group had 5 people-Seok Cheng,Maggie,Lik Yong,Joseph and me.Nightwalk was scary though. There were quite a few scary ‘ghosts’ wandering around.Quite fun screaming and laughing.

After the nightwalk,P901 met at the Sports Complex to slack and talk while the other classes played catching at the mushroom. It was a wonderful experience.Best time we had together.Around 4am,we went back to our bunks. We did not sleep until 5.30am,played indian poker in a classroom.Had so much fun..lols..

After sleeping for 1 hour,we went down for breakfast and proceeded with station games such as ‘human table soccer’, and ‘flour’ game. After lunch we had water games which were the main highlights of the whole AMS Camp.We slimed each other, put shaving cream on each other making each other look as dirty and messy as possible.

After the camp,P901 went to KFC to have a class dinner. And that was all for the camp.Had so much fun in this camp.I love AMS and P901! :D

Dunman Care and Share Day 09′

Went to school at 7am to help the 02s set up their stall. From 9.30 to 10.30am,there were not many people in the canteen as there was a concert organized by the teachers going on. Just after the concert, around 10.35am, there was a sudden long queue of people waiting to buy pratas from our stall.I was astounded by the crowd at our stall. This year’s sales were somewhat much more better than last year’s in my opinion. :D
by 1.30pm, all the 500 plus doughs were cleared.Last year we still had 100 plus more doughs left even after 3pm. I seriously hope that we made much more profits than the previous years and that Dunman Air could make a larger difference to the lives of the needy students. :) This year’s bazaar also offered me an opportunity to meet ex-dunmanites and ex-cadets such as Teng Kiat and Louis. Hope that this tradition of having an annual Bazaar would continue as long as possible.

After the bazaar, went to watch The Pink Panther 2. Quite a funny movie I must say.

Thats all for yesterday.

Part B Trainfire

Went for Part B Trainfire in the morning at HQ.Met up with Hafiy and Farisa at Yio Chu Kang MRT. Suddenly-
Hafiy–> “Eh Noor, how to strip and assemble the M16 ah?”
Obviously forgotten the procedures of IA Drills and Stripping/Assembling rifle. The last time we did trainfire was during Spec Course 07′.Hmm…2 yrs back..Luckily, I looked through the spec course manual yesterday and revised the parts of the M16 and the IA Drills.

Idham and Yi Xiang joined us for Trainfire as well. I took Changkat Boys for their Trainfire.Quite a bunch of fast learners and executers. Thus, my lesson went on smoothly regardless of their huge strength.Taught them IA drills, Marksmanship Fundamentals and Stripping/Assembling of Rifle.

After clearing up, one cadet lost his rifle’s retaining pin.We tried to search but to no avail.Proceeded to the Air Office and a surprise awaited us.Rofl. Our Air DC bought us pratas.Lols :D

After relaxing in Air Office for a while, went back home….

HQ was not bad after all..Quite shiok and enjoyable..Only if everyday was like today..

Signing off,
Noor ^_^

Chinese New Year

From Wikipedia-

Chinese New Year or Spring Festival is one of the most important traditional Chinese holidays. It is sometimes called the Lunar New Year, especially by people outside China. The festival traditionally begins on the first day of the first lunar month (Chinese: 正月; pinyin: zhēng yuè) in the Chinese calendar and ends on the 15th; this day is called Lantern Festival. Chinese New Year’s Eve is known as Chúxī. It literally means “Year-pass Eve”.

Celebrated in areas with large populations of ethnic Chinese, Chinese New Year is considered a major holiday for the Chinese and has had influence on the new year celebrations of its geographic neighbours, as well as cultures with whom the Chinese have had extensive interaction.[citation needed] These include Aboriginal Taiwanese people, Koreans, Mongolians, Nepalese, Bhutanese, Vietnamese, and formerly the Japanese before 1873. In Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and other countries or regions with significant Han Chinese populations, Chinese New Year is also celebrated, and has, to varying degrees, become part of the traditional culture of these countries. In Canada, although Chinese New Year is not an official holiday, many ethnic Chinese hold large celebrations and Canada Post issues New Year’s themed stamps in domestic and international rates.

Although the Chinese calendar traditionally does not use continuously numbered years, its years are often numbered from the reign of Huangdi outside China. But at least three different years numbered 1 are now used by various scholars, making the year 2008 “Chinese Year” 4706, 4705, or 4645.[2]

The 2009 date for Chinese New Year is January 26.

With this I would like to wish all my Chinese friends:

新年快乐! 万事如意!

Ushering the year of the ox with prosperity.

:)

Another Personality Test

Here are my results-

Conscientious

You feel it’s important to work according to a plan and finish every task, to do things correctly and thoroughly.

You are not the kind of person who abandons a project before finishing it, or slacks off when you’ve lost interest.

Organized

You like to think a task through before you embark on it. If it’s the slightest bit complicated, you make a list (even if it’s only in your mind) and methodically work your way through it. When you have a goal in mind, you’re not satisfied until you reach it.

You are not one of those people who ignore the details, and you don’t understand how anyone can get anything accomplished without thoughtful planning ahead of time.

Meticulous

You tend to want everything you touch to be just right. You can spot errors, omissions, shoddy work, or bad taste from a mile away. You demand a lot of yourself, and you often hold others to the same standards.

You don’t want to be one of those people who couldn’t care less about doing a job well, and you don’t think it helps to apologize for the sloppiness of others or cut them a lot of slack.

Buttoned-Down

You like to know that everything is in its place; it’s somehow empowering to know that the world around you is neat and organized. For you, schedules and timelines are great ways to stay on track, and mowing down the items on your “to do” list is a source of happiness.

You do not believe that a clean, orderly desk is the sign of a person who doesn’t have enough to do; you don’t thrive on a sense of personal anarchy.

Excitable

You have a strong image of how you want things to be, and when the world around you refuses to cooperate you get annoyed, distracted, or worse.

You don’t feel compelled to stay calm when the world around you is erupting in chaos; it’s not your job to keep everyone else in line.

Scrupulous

You are an honest, fair person. You don’t lie or cheat to get ahead. You treat others with respect and hope for the same in return.

You do not feel that you are above the rules that everyone else follows; you are definitely not willing to do whatever it takes to get ahead.

Responsible

You fulfill your obligations and responsibilities, are true to your word, and generally obey the rules.

You’re opposed to making hasty decisions, you don’t insist that you’re above the rules, nor do you feel compelled to color outside the lines.

While the majority of those who have a high score on the “responsible” trait enjoy traveling, they are usually very happy to return home — and don’t mind staying put for a while.

Accessible

You’re comfortable expressing yourself in words and actions, with no self-censorship. You believe that if someone doesn’t like what they see it’s not your problem, but theirs.

You don’t see the need to keep your thoughts to yourself, or to have a zone of privacy that encompasses only yourself and a small circle of friends and relatives.

A high score on the “accessible” trait suggests that you have a lot of friends, socialize often, and enjoy rap/hip-hop music.

Abrasive

You are accustomed to rubbing people the wrong way; it’s simply what happens when you express your opinions. In your opinion, there’s nothing wrong with being controversial.

You don’t have a “live and let live” attitude when it comes to other people whose opinions clash with yours; you see no reason to give the benefit of the doubt to someone who is just plain wrong.

Prudent

You look before you leap, think before you act, consider what you’re about to say before you open your mouth to speak; that’s why you rarely have to eat your words.

You usually don’t get excited easily or blurt out the first thing that comes to mind without considering the consequences.
